Cornwall

Hello Everyone.

I forgot to upload some pictures of my summer holiday this year.
I was in Cornwall in August for our family holiday.

On the way there, I photographed a great picture of the sky I'd like to post here. It was one of the most beautiful skies I've ever seen.

And some more, the beach we went to everyday.

New sewing machine

Hi Everyone.

I'd like to introduce my new sewing machine.
This is an industrial sewing machine by Juki with an additional silent engine (much quieter than domestic machines).

I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and very happy working with it. Very smooth.

(I still use my domestic one when I need for zigzag stitches and when I sew something small such as cuffs though.)

Goodwood Revival

Hello Everyone.

Sorry, a shoulder injury and a tummy bug has kept me away for a while.  I am slowly getting better but still need to rest my shoulder a couple more weeks. Ah, how inconvenient not having use of my arms all the time (having taken them for granted all my life)!

Just before I injured my shoulder (falling off a bike...), Rob, my husband and I went to the Gooldwood Revival Meeting. I have been before and love it so much.
On our wedding day last September, Rob's Godfather (also called Rob) couldn't attend since he was working for the event as one of the organisers. However, he made up for it by inviting us to Goodwood this year.

We saw many beautiful vintage cars, races, market stalls, air shows and above all, a wonderful mix of people dressed in 50s and 60s vintage clothes.  So elegant!

I wore a 50s vintage dress which I'd first worn at the end of our wedding (the primary wedding dress being a vintage Kimono.) I coordinated the dress with a white cardigan and a vintage lace head dress.
Rob wore a brown/green tweed jacket, a red buttoned up Fred Perry polo shirt, brown chords and black leather shoes.

The weather was perfect - sunny and clear blue skies, illuminating a wonderful day out.

Enjoy the autumn and all the beauty and colours it brings!

afternoon tea

Hi Everyone.

A couple afternoons ago, I visited one of my best friends' house. I baked some cheese cake, macarons and egg tart for us. On the way over, I regretted not making sandwiches - would have completed a perfect afternoon tea.

She must be a food pyschic, as on arrival, I found her in the kitchen preparing lovely sandwiches and banana scorns. What luck!.

We enjoyed the happening afternoon tea. :)
(I loved her home made pesto sandwich and the banana scorn very much.)

Beautiful bag dispatched!

Hi Everyone.

I dispatched a beautiful bag to a Japanese customer yesterday. I made the bag with black satin fabric and hand quilted it with creamy white embroidery floss. On the inside and the trimming I added some fluffy white fabric. (I love this soft interior). For the strap, I used  high quality black Italian leather

The measurements are H: 23cm (Inc the strap 47cm) X W: 33cm X D: 8cm (perfect for an iPad).

With it's flexible depth, the bag has a surprisingly large capacity (although it's not very ladylike to carry so much in such a small bag, we all have to do it!).

The price is £45 and I can make the bag in either Black or Khaki.

If you make an order, I can make the bag and have it posted to you in 7-14 days.

If you have any special requests such as different size or colour,  please allow me little more time longer (and an additional sum may be required).

I'm planning to use khaki this coming Autumn (or is it already here?!).

I hope you like these bags as much as I enjoy making them. All questions welcome!!

With Love

Hello everyone!
I hope you are still enjoying the Olympics. Team GB now has 18 gold medals! Amazing.

Here is some pictures of place mats I made recently.
Each mat has a different embroidered flower and it is reversible.

I will make from one for you.
Please ask me about other colour options and pricing on email.

I hope you like them!

See you next time.

Olympics!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying the London Olympics. Me? Oh, yes!
But I haven't slept enough due to this Olympic craze... the other day, my husband and I left the Horse Guard Parade at 1am as the last game finished then! and got home and more Olympics on telly....

So far, we have watched, Archery ( I am a big fan now!) Volleyball and Beach Vollyball in the stadiums. We have been lucky to get those tickets from last year. My husband is now watching Athletics with Jessica Ennis! Oh, she is really amazing girl. I really want Jessica to win a gold this time.

I have been supporting my country, Japan as well of course. In the Lord's Cricket where was the venue for archery, we happened to be next to one of the Japanese archery olympians' parents! My husband was such a nice guys and screamed "Come on Japan!!" for the lovely and modest parents. :)
The team got a bronze and the son of the people next to us got a silver on his own yesterday!! Oh, I was pleased.

Team GB is so strong with the rowing today. I love watching rowers in the summer!

It's been little slowed down, my bag making... not easy to watch and use sewing machine.  I mainly do hand stitching part of the process.

Yet, I have just sent a bag to a lovely lady living in Tokyo.
She ordered a black hand stitched quilt bag.
I love this bag and have the same one with khaki colour.

I will show it to you next time.

Let's try not to let invade the Olympics into our lives too much?!

Have great days until next time.

love

Lunch picnic and green tea swiss roll

Hi everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying this hot summery day! My husband and I went to our nearby park for lunch picnic today.

A very good friend of us gave us a vintage picnic set as a wedding gift last year and I finally use it as a set.
The lovely old-fashioned plastic cups and plates made my picnic look very cute!

I am thinking about making something with green tea (Maccha) powder tonight.
The last two pictures are 1. green tea swiss roll, 2. green tea macaron

I have been baking a few things with green tea last few weeks.. it's almost obsessive.. :)

Until next time, have a lovely week and enjoy the summer.

Thank you for reading again.

Vintage table linens

Hi everyone!

This is my first post of this blog since I started last week!
It was also the first proper summerly weekend in England this year!
I really hope you enjoyed the sunshine. :)

I was with my husband at his parents' house in Sussex for a cricket match with local people. (How English summer is that!)
Lots of families and friends from young to old plus many dogs. (I am more into dogs rather than cricket...)

Then, my mother-in-law gave me plenty of old table linens that she was given from her own mother!
My mother-in-law knows that I love sewing and told me I could use them to create. How wonderful is that!!

Here is the picture of the collection of table linens. (And the pudding I had with mother-in-laws lovely chocolate cake as yesterday was her daughter's birthday.)
I'm so excited to make something new out of those fabrics!

I'm looking forward to showing my work with them some day... :)
I am going to show you some items I already made this summer soon anyway.

Until then, have a lovely summerly week!  See you soon!
